We are hiring! The Construction Manager is an integral part of our Construction Management (CM) Team. This position is based out of Reno, NV. We are seeking a highly motivated project manager who will serve as the onsite Construction Manager for aviation and other civil engineering projects in Northern Nevada. Must be local to Reno and have prior aviation experience and vertical building construction experience. Must be able to lead weekly meetings, manage contractor pay applications, and serve as main point of contact / onsite liaison between the client and contractor throughout construction.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Acts as owner’s representative for construction projects.
• Administers construction contracts, including verifying compliance with plans and specifications, certifying contractor payment applications, and negotiating change orders.
• Provides technical review of material submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documents.
• Conducts project meetings, including preparing agenda and tracking assigned actions.  
• Schedules and coordinates observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials.
• Assigns, leads and supervises internal staff engaged in observation and testing and in related record keeping.
• Monitors contractors’ progress against schedule and prepares progress reports.
• Oversees compilation of project closeout documents.
• Supports internal management with business development, pursuits, and proposals for construction management work.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field and seven years of related experience, including personnel supervision.
• With Associate degree, fifteen years of related experience is required. Without a degree, seventeen years of related experience is required.
• Experience in Construction Management of roadway, aviation, utilities, and other civil engineering projects is desired.
• Ability to supervise internal staff, field representatives, and field office personnel.
• Leadership and managerial skills.
• Analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and computer software skills.
• P.E. or C.C.M. preferred.
