Le Directeur de l’ingénierie de projet intégrera la pratique de gestion de l’ingénierie au sein de l’organisation technique professionnelle (TPO) des Services d’ingénierie Canada. Il jouera un rôle de premier plan dans la prestation des services d’ingénierie sur des projets de grande envergure et complexes (généralement de classe 3, 4 et 5, allant de 1 M$ à plus de 20 M$), tout en soutenant la croissance de la pratique de gestion de l’ingénierie.
Relevant du Directeur des opérations de la pratique de gestion de l’ingénierie, le Directeur de l’ingénierie de projet sera affecté à des projets afin de contribuer à l’élaboration de la stratégie de l’équipe d’ingénierie de projet et de superviser l’exécution réussie de la conception technique de projets multidisciplinaires, de l’initiation à la livraison. Il collaborera étroitement avec des équipes transversales, notamment la livraison de projet, les experts techniques du TPO et les parties prenantes externes, afin de fournir des solutions d’ingénierie de haute qualité répondant aux attentes des clients.
Le candidat idéal possédera de solides compétences en leadership, une expertise technique reconnue, une expérience en ingénierie multidisciplinaire et un historique de gestion de projets d’envergure.

Votre rôle au sein de l’équipe :
Planification et exécution de l’ingénierie :
Collaborer avec les équipes de développement commercial (Win Work) et les responsables de marché pour définir les échéanciers, livrables et efforts requis pour les propositions, en assurant l’alignement avec les exigences du client et les objectifs d’affaires.
Collaborer avec l’équipe de livraison de projet (gestion de projet et services administratifs) pour définir les objectifs, échéanciers et livrables du projet, en assurant l’alignement avec les exigences du client.
Superviser le cycle de vie du projet d’ingénierie : conception, développement, essais et mise en œuvre, tout en gérant les risques techniques et les ressources.
Superviser le plan d’exécution de la conception et la coordination technique interdisciplinaire.
Prioriser la sécurité tout au long de la livraison technique.
S’assurer que les estimations d’effort internes et externes, les échéanciers, les livrables et les obligations liés au périmètre sont bien compris, respectés et suivis.
Préparer et soumettre les rapports mensuels de projet au Directeur de la gestion de l’ingénierie responsable du marché ou aux responsables de portefeuille.
Expertise technique et assurance qualité :
Fournir des conseils techniques à l’équipe d’ingénierie, en assurant l’application des meilleures pratiques et normes de l’industrie.
Promouvoir des initiatives innovantes et d’amélioration continue pour optimiser les processus, méthodologies et outils d’ingénierie.
Réaliser des revues régulières et des évaluations de qualité des livrables techniques, en assurant leur conformité aux exigences du projet et aux normes de qualité.
Promouvoir une culture de la valeur ajoutée (Value Engineering) tout au long du cycle de vie du projet.
Comprendre les livrables inclus dans le périmètre et gérer les changements.
Collaboration avec les parties prenantes :
Collaborer étroitement avec les parties prenantes internes et externes : clients, architectes, fournisseurs, entrepreneurs et autorités réglementaires.
Assurer une communication efficace, fournir des mises à jour régulières, répondre aux préoccupations et gérer les attentes pour renforcer les relations avec les clients.
Participer activement aux réunions, présentations et discussions techniques, en représentant l’équipe d’ingénierie et en fournissant des recommandations expertes.

Profil recherché :
Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en génie civil ou dans une discipline connexe, avec plus de 15 ans d’expérience dans des projets de transport, notamment en conception d’infrastructures ferroviaires et de transport en commun (train léger).
Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en gestion de l’ingénierie, avec direction d’équipes multidisciplinaires complexes à travers les phases de planification, conception et livraison.
Bonne compréhension des cadres réglementaires dans les différentes provinces, en tant qu’ingénieur professionnel enregistré au Canada, et admissibilité à obtenir des titres professionnels dans plusieurs juridictions.
Expérience dans la supervision de la conception de systèmes de transport en commun (LRT, BRT ou autres), en assurant la conformité aux normes, la gestion des consultants et l’intégration avec les environnements urbains et les infrastructures existantes.
Expérience dans des environnements hautement réglementés, incluant les autorités municipales, provinciales et fédérales. Compréhension de l’importance de la sécurité, de la conformité et de la coordination des parties prenantes dans les projets d’infrastructure publique.
Familiarité avec le génie civil, les services publics et le génie des systèmes, avec capacité à coordonner entre disciplines et parties prenantes.
Expérience avec différents modèles contractuels, y compris les contrats de type Alliance (un atout).
Excellente expertise technique, capacité de résolution de problèmes et prise de décision, souci du détail et engagement envers la qualité.
Compétences en communication orale et écrite, avec capacité à présenter des informations techniques complexes à des publics variés (le bilinguisme français/anglais est un atout).
Bilingue : français et anglais (*).

Project Engineering Director

The Project Engineering Director will join the Engineering Management practice within the Technical Professional Organization (TPO) of Engineering Services Canada. The Project Engineering Director will play a lead role in the delivery of Engineering Services on large and complex projects (generally Class 3, 4 & 5 projects ranging from $1M to > $20M) while also supporting the growth of the Engineering Management practice.
Reporting to the Director of Operations of the Engineering Management practice, the Project Engineering Director will be assigned to projects to contribute to the development of the project engineering team’s strategy and overseeing/ensuring the successful execution of the engineering design of large, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. In addition, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Project Delivery, Technical TPO, external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional technical expertise, multi-disciplinary engineering experience, and a proven track record of managing engineering of large-scale projects.

Your role within the team:
Engineering Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with Win Work (Business Development) and Market Lead to define proposal timelines, deliverables and efforts, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives.
Collaborate with Project Delivery (Project Management and Project administrative services) team to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives during the planning and execution phases.
Oversee the engineering project lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and implementation, while managing technical risk and resources effectively.
Oversee the Project Design Execution Plan and the inter-disciplinary technical coordination.
Ensure safety is prioritized throughout technical delivery.
Ensure internal and external effort estimates, schedule, deliverables and obligations associated with the scope of work are fully understood, identified, adhered to and monitored.
Prepare and submit project monthly reporting to the Engineering Management Director responsible for a Market or Portfolio Leads.
Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:
Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, ensuring the use of industry best practices and standards, and promoting innovative and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency and productivity.
Conduct regular reviews and quality assessments of engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and quality standards in addition to promoting a Value Engineering culture throughout the project life cycle. Understand in-scope deliverables and manage change.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success.
Engage in effective communication, providing regular engineering updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to foster strong client relationships.
Actively participate in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions, representing the engineering team and providing expert insights and recommendations.

The ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with 15+ years of experience in transportation projects within rail & transit / light rail transit infrastructure design. Has at least 5 years in engineering management, leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams across planning, design, and delivery phases.
A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks across provinces as a registered professional engineer in Canada and eligible to obtain relevant professional designation in multiple jurisdictions across Canada.
Experience overseeing design development of LRT, BRT or other rail & bus transit systems, ensuring compliance with transit standards, managing consultant teams, and supporting integration with urban environments and existing infrastructure.
Experience with working in highly regulated environments, including municipal, provincial, and federal authorities. Understands the importance of safety, compliance, and stakeholder coordination in public infrastructure projects.
Has a familiarity with civil & utilities and systems engineering with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and stakeholders.
Experience working under different contract models including Alliance contracts would be an asset.
Strong technical expertise and exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results, with a deep understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences (both French and English are an asset).
Bilingual: English French (*).
