About the Team:
Our team within the Industrial Business specializes in taking on the most significant engineering projects in the Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical, Food, pharma sector, ensuring safe, reliable, low carbon nuclear power generation, and preparations for safe and efficient defueling. We also support other parts of the Atkins Nuclear & Power business covering the full life cycle from new build through to deconstruction.
The opportunities we have are varied in size and responsibility levels, from delivering our consultancy services, to working for the client organization delivering their projects and programs.
Atkins Global Technology Centre (GTC) is looking to appoint a E3D Designer (Piping) to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office in Mumbai, India.
Responsibilities –
- Directly performs work of designers and drafters, this work includes the preparation of 3D model in E3D application also preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed construction drawings using 2D CAD software like AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Proficient in Equipment design and development, System design, including concept sketches and layouts.
- Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports
- Preparation or review of material quantity estimates.
- Reviews drawings, and vendor equipment documentation, both within the discipline as well as from other fields, for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution
- Proficient in Navisworks review and clash resolution capabilities, as required
- Should be able to work independently and handle an area with team of designers / engineers.
- Interdisciplinary check of all Civil / Structural / Piping / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation drawings
- Provide guidance and mentorship to lower classification piping designers.
- Preparing P&ID and PFD using Aveva Smart P&ID application.
- Review project parameters related to piping requirements.
- Experience of preparing Isometric extraction from Aveva Smart Isometric.
- Develop preliminary Bills of Materials concerning piping design.
Required skills and experience –
- Engineering Graduate or Engineering Diploma or ITI with experience between 4 to 10 + Years mainly for Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical and Petrochemicals multidisciplinary of medium and large size projects.
- Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Mechanical and/or Piping design in the industry.
- Shall be Capable of Producing E3D Model Independently in coordination with other disciplines.
- Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.
- Able to present / represent their technical work.
- Working knowledge of standard codes and EDMS (Electronic Data Management System).
- Familiar with planning, budgeting, and scheduling of basic drafting tasks in designated disciplines.
- Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.
- An effective and reliable team member able to apply knowledge gained.
- Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.
- Ensuring that drawings issued are in accordance with the agreed standards as required by the UK / ME region.
- Interface experience with project management team and senior engineers.
Desirable skills and experience –
- Must be an advanced user of E3D & Its equivalent tools for Plant Design with capabilities to federate individual discipline models, maintain and run clash related activities for discipline models.
- Must be able to use Smart Plant Review / Navisworks to generate clash results, manage clash resolution, redline BIM Models, capture viewpoints and cascade reports to discipline teams.
- Preparation of reports such as feasibility studies, method statements, specifications, design reports, schedules, construction drawings and bills of quantities.
