SNC-Lavalin is seeking a qualified and experienced personnel in the Toronto Office to carry out Water Resources studies for Roads, Bridges and Municipal Engineering group.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analysis, including flood mapping, water balance analysis, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and LID Design.

  • Develop engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications for municipal road and highway infrastructure projects.

  • Performs basic calculations to analyze and design water resources system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software (e.g., SWMHYMO, PCSWMM, GIS, Culvert Master, HEC-RAS, etc.).

  • Working knowledge of using different design criteria manuals from Cities, MTO, MOE, and Conservation Authorities.

  • Design and prepare profiles, cross sections, and storm drainage systems.

  • Prepare reports, calculations, technical memos, and meeting minutes.

  • Develop and oversee preparation of contract packages includes design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Support project management, proposal writing and business development and client base support.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines.

What will you contribute?

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from a recognized institution with 0 - 2 year of relevant experience.

  • Working knowledge of current design software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

  • Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and project engineering in municipal roads and/or highways including preliminary and detailed design, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Effective interpersonal skills, a strong client-service focus, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
