Your role

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for management accounting of a Market within the Secure Government Division, covering daily, weekly & monthly management accounting duties including bid reviews, reporting, budgets, forecast and financial analysis. The role reports directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner responsible for the Market. A part qualified / newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). Business partnering experience. Some knowledge of AtkinsRéalis’ finance processes, standards and systems (including Oracle) will be advantageous. The role will be based in Bristol 2-3 days per week and will require ad hoc UK travel, Cheltenham, London, Silchester. The responsibilities are:

• Bidding: working with the Business Partners of the respective Market to provide pricing and bid support to bid / project managers & Directors, including overseeing the creation and integrity of bid models.
• Project Delivery: working with the Business Partners of the respective Market to review projects in delivery, working closely with project support teams, managers and Market Operations Director. Ensuring all costs are attributed to the delivery of contracts are captured accurately, and balance to complete forecasts are reviewed and captured accurately, using the corporate project toolsets available.
• Management Accounts production, ongoing development and reporting upwards and within the Market, to include:
  • Monthly Pre-month end predictions, accruals, prepayments, overhead reviews, cash flow forecasting, major project analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Month end financial performance, commentaries, and exceptions analysis.
  • Quarterly performance expectations, forecasts and annual budget cycle. Internal audit requests.
  • Annual co-ordination, Research and Development Tax credits, PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA), Factbook, internal audit and position papers.
  • Ad hoc projects and support, Senior Finance Business Partner, Market and the wider Secure Government finance team.

About you

• IT literate, with strong excel skills (to advance level including pivot tables, look-ups and macros).
• Power BI knowledge would be an advantage.

• Analytical with an enquiring mind.
• Proactive approach – able to work autonomously and use own initiative.
• Commercially aware. Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and process to a high standard under time pressure.

Security clearance
