Horticulture/Landscaping Manager

The Landscaping Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, enhancement, and sustainability of landscaped areas within the facility. This role ensures that all green spaces, gardens, and outdoor areas are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Landscaping Maintenance:

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee routine maintenance of landscaped areas, including mowing, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control.
  • Monitor the health of all plants, trees, shrubs, and grass areas, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure proper irrigation system operation and maintenance.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate the landscaping team.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure proper completion and quality of work.
  • Conduct regular safety training and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Landscape Enhancement:

  • Develop and implement landscaping improvement plans and designs to enhance the aesthetic value of the facility.
  • Design and plan seasonal planting schedules, including flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Recommend sustainable practices, such as using native plants, water-efficient systems, and organic fertilizers.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage the landscaping maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with external landscaping vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular inspections of landscaped areas to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Respond promptly to client or management feedback regarding landscaping issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of landscaping activities, equipment maintenance, and team performance.

Sustainability and Compliance:

  • Ensure landscaping practices comply with local environmental regulations.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices, including waste reduction, composting, and water conservation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • University Degree in Horticulture, Landscaping, or Agriculture.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in landscaping management, preferably within facility management, and minimum 2 years experience in managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant species, irrigation systems, and pest management.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and budget management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
