Ingénieur(e) en structures – Pylônes / Structural Engineer – Transmission Tower

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer with experience in pylons, who wants to play a central role in our specialized civil engineering team for high-voltage transmission lines.

This role will be based in Montréal, QC.

Your role

• Design steel, wood, or polymer pylons.

• Design foundations (steel mesh, concrete, piles, screw piles, rock anchoring, etc.).

• Detail structures, calculate structure connections.

• Supervise tests on pylons.

• Conduct studies, write reports, and prepare specifications.

• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies to integrate them into the design process.

• Coordinate work internally and with the client.

• Review calculations done by other engineers and supervise the work of junior engineers.

• Supervise the work of technicians and designers assigned to projects.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering in civil or structural engineering.

• 8 years of experience in the field.

• Knowledge of PLS CADD, PLS TOWER, PLS POLE software, Staad Pro, L-Pile, RISA, and Foundation Analysis and Design (FAD).

• Registered member of Engineers in Quebec or Ontario, or British Columbia.

• Available for occasional business travel.

• The candidate is able to communicate in both French (oral and written) and English (oral)*.

This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as the clients and/or suppliers you will interact with are primarily English-speaking and located outside Québec.
