AtkinsRéalis is seeking a knowledgeable and technically skilled Irrigation Engineer to supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of irrigation networks and related systems on the a Roads and Infrastructure Project. The successful candidate will ensure the proper implementation of pressurized irrigation networks and compliance with Ashghal and Ministry of Municipality standards, as well as industry best practices in water efficiency and sustainability.

The role requires at least 7 years of experience, with 5 years specific to irrigation system design and supervision on landscape or infrastructure projects in Qatar.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise all on-site irrigation works including pipe laying, valve chambers, control panels, irrigation emitters, and automated systems.
• Review and approve contractor submissions including irrigation design drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material submittals.
• Ensure proper coordination between irrigation layout and landscaping, utilities, and civil works.
• Monitor pressure zones, pump station installations, and testing of irrigation system components.
• Conduct inspections for hydrostatic testing, flushing, and system commissioning prior to handover.
• Verify compliance with Ashghal and Ministry of Municipality irrigation specifications and environmental requirements.
• Check plant watering requirements and match irrigation design capacity and distribution accordingly.
• Coordinate with Landscape Engineers, Civil Engineers, and utility teams on cross-disciplinary installation activities.
• Maintain site documentation, inspection records, and contribute to QA/QC and as-built submissions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering (with irrigation specialization).
• Minimum 7 years total experience, with at least 5 in supervision of irrigation networks on infrastructure/landscape projects in Qatar.
• Certification in irrigation systems design or water conservation (preferred).
• Grade A UPDA is a plus.
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
• Familiar with document management systems (Ashghal DCS), MS Office, AutoCAD (viewing), and site-related software.

Key Competencies:

• Sound understanding of pressurized irrigation systems and water efficiency.
  Experience in inspection and testing of pump stations, valve chambers, and controller systems.
• Coordination skills for multidisciplinary site conditions (landscape, MEP, civil).
• Knowledge of Ashghal, MM, and QCS irrigation standards.
• Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and quality reporting skills.
