Candu performs Reactor inspection and maintenance services to the fleet of CANDU nuclear reactors operating around the world. In addition, we also provide mid-life Reactor Refurbishment services to all our CANDU customers. These activities typically involve the design, build, deployment and maintenance of specialized robotic tooling used for activities performed within the primary heat transport system (fuel channels, feeders, and steam generators). Our technical staff are experts in the design and use of complex tooling systems deployed during reactor outages in a radiation environment.

The Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager or the General Manager and will be responsible for the coordination of engineering work. This role will require continuous communication with all projects’ team members, collecting projects’ data, and preparing projects’ weekly/monthly progress reports for Candu clients.

For growth of the candidate, we may also rotate the successful employee through short-term assignments in other Candu Energy or AtkinsRéalis Nuclear project teams, to expose them to broader parts of the organization.

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

• Responsible for assigned scope of the project and accountable for performing duties that facilitate work progressing with engineering, safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with key stakeholders as required generally including engineering, safety, quality, cost and schedule controllers, and clients.
• Maintain a positive relationship with client, and the projects’ team members.
• Responsible for helping implement the projects’ schedule and track budget for assigned engineering, procurement, construction segments of the project.
• Responsible for collecting the projects’ progress updates and preparing weekly / monthly projects’ progress reports for the clients.
• Coordinates with Engineering to ensure that the engineering deliverables are prepared in support of the project as per plan.
• Ensure work is performed within quality program requirements.
• Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.

The ideal candidate:

• Experience supporting various types of projects including engineering, safety, construction, or manufacturing projects considered an asset.
• An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry considered an asset.
• University degree or equivalent, BSc in Engineering considered an asset.
• Working Experience with Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Outlook and Teams, Power BI, MS Project Demonstrates experience and skill in the following areas:
