The Project Manager - MCR Tooling will report to the MCR Project Director and will be responsible for the full life cycle of tooling, from design and development to manufacturing/refurbishment, testing and delivery. This role requires close stakeholder management of engineering, manufacturing, and vendors, as well as leadership of project team members. The Project Manager is expected to have experience in project delivery and project execution methodology including an understanding of engineering, procurement, contract management and project controls principles.

Your role within the team:

• Project Planning and Scope Definition: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Define the project scope and deliverables in compliance with contract documents and client requirements.
• Team Leadership and Coordination: Assemble and lead a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among engineering, procurement, quality, and other stakeholders.
• People Management: Maintain supervisory org. and mange career development of assigned project resources to the betterment of the individuals, the project and the business. Assemble a project team through recruiting, interviewing and/or selecting staff with appropriate skills and establishing training and development programs suitable for the work. This generally requires close coordination with functional managers from various functions (engineering, project controls, safety, quality etc.). Make effective decisions / recommendations on human resource issues, work closely with Labour Relations as required to effectively resolve work performance issues within the project.
• Contract and Risk Management: Manage all aspects of contract administration, including scope and change control, subcontractor and supplier management, and risk management. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and governance. Accountable for rigorous risk analysis in accordance with corporate standards.
• Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality requirements. Develop and enforce safety programs, training, and corrective action plans to maintain high performance standards.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Apply key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project health and performance. Establish rigorous reporting protocols to meet contract, corporate, and project-specific oversight requirements. Ensure project metrics such as SPI, CPI and Key Work Milestones are monitored & maintained.
• Procurement and Supply Chain Management: Responsible for all contract management including scope & change control, requirements management, subcontractor and supplier management and governance for any flow-down requirements from the parent contract to subs and vendors.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure effective communication and coordination to keep all parties informed and aligned with project goals. Establish and maintain strong relationships with management, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Ethical and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with corporate standards of ethical conduct, cyber-security, import-export regulations, intellectual property protections, and security clearance protocols.
• Nuclear Safety: Accountable for all aspects of nuclear and industrial safety including adherence with corporate and customer safety programs, development and enforcement of necessary training and requirements, adherence to corrective action programs and enforcement of performance standards for all of the above.
• These responsibilities ensure that the Project Manager - MCR Tooling maintains high standards of safety, quality, and delivery excellence throughout the process.

The ideal candidate:

• Educational Background: BSc in Engineering or equivalent is an asset.
• Certifications: PMP certification is an asset. P.Eng license is an asset.
• Project Experience: 8+ years of experience leading or supporting projects in procurement, construction, manufacturing, or engineering services.
• Nuclear Supply Chain: Understanding of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles.
• Nuclear Experience: Experience in Nuclear Reactor Retube projects is an asset.
• Team Building: Ability to build and inspire a team to work towards common goals.
• People Management: Experience managing direct reports within a project delivery functional support model.
• Leadership: Lead by example, setting high standards for Health & Safety and Nuclear Safety Culture.
• Quality Assurance: Appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
• Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and customer relationship skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication abilities.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications is considered an asset.
• Project Delivery: Understanding of project delivery methodology, including earned value, critical path scheduling, prime contract and subcontract management, procurement and supply chain methodology, and inspection and test plans. Understanding of large EPC work including subcontracts, prime contract management.
• Safety Knowledge: Working knowledge of industrial safety and nuclear safety culture.
