Senior Highway Engineer (Moving I-4 Forward)

AtkinsRéalis is currently seeking a Mid-Level Highway Engineer to join our Moving I-4 Forward Program Office in Celebration, FL.

As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by preparing project specifications; preparing complete project documents, analysis, and reports; analyzing and interpreting data; performing analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts; designing complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes; and performs quality control reviews and field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects. This position may also provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration and/or manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams. This position requires working in the client’s office 5 days a week.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Performs preliminary engineering design and/or reviews the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers or drafters.
• Prepares cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of final plans and reports and submits them for approval.
• Conducts or oversees personnel involved in engineering investigations and planning work.
• Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
• Plans, schedules and conducts or coordinates construction services on projects of moderate scope.
• May occasionally assist in the management of projects.
• May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
• Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials or procedures, or difficult coordination requirements.
• Most assignments are performed independently, making decisions on technical problems and methods. Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or unusual problems.
• Coordinates with guides and/or reviews the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
• Interfaces with senior technical professionals and technical managers.
• Routinely interfaces with clients and regulatory agencies.

What will you contribute?

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.
• 3-5 years' experience required.
• P.E. license is required.
• Good technical writing, computer and communications skills. May be eligible to receive project management training.
