We are seeking a Senior ITS Analyst to join our ITS CEI team in Tallahassee, FL.

Under direction, applies technical professional competency in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology to the investigation of transportation planning, engineering and operational needs and problems, the coordination of ITS project activities, and the preparation of preliminary plans and documents.

Carries out job functions within small, project-oriented, multidisciplinary teams of ITS professionals and supports direct interaction with clients within the context of project progress meetings, design reviews, operations, and project production and delivery.

Major results expected include high-quality written, verbal, and graphical deliverables in the form of operational concepts, technology reviews, designs, and specifications.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Conducts assignments that have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a defined number of variables. Duties usually include the following:
• Applies knowledge and experience of ITS and traffic control systems, networks, devices, operations, and engineering principles to meet project and client needs as well as solve specific ITS-related problems.
• Performs systems analysis and implementation consulting for external solution implementations.
• Works closely with client, prime and sub-contractors, and outside vendors to effectively plan, deploy, and maintain project environment.
• Develops preliminary concepts, requirements, and technical specifications.
• Reads, understands, and applies contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals to inspection, testing, and performance of work.
• Observes ITS related construction work, such as trench excavation, conduit placement, fiber optic and electrical cabling operations, field equipment installation, structure placement, verify or establish network communications, concrete pouring, signalization, and lighting, etc. to determine adherence to contract documents and regulatory agency provisions.
• Provides technical support and coordination with the on-site team to solve technical and operational problems.
• Performs other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or an ITS-related subject, such as Computer Science, Networks & Communications, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Transportation Planning, Information Technology, or similar technical fields. Master’s degree can substitute for one year of experience.
• Knowledge and experience may also be achieved by High School graduate or equivalent plus ten (10) years of experience in Traffic & ITS field support, two (2) years of which shall have been in construction or inspection.
• Relevant work experience desired includes information systems integration, network communication technologies (such as OSI layers 1 – 3 equipment configuration and installation), experience with configuration and operation of ITS devices and traffic signal equipment, communication system design and implementation, video system design and implementation, traveler information system integration, Tolls & electronic payment systems integration, and familiarity with computer hardware and software used as part of configuration, installation, integration, operation, and maintenance of traffic control
• Strong technical writing and communications skills essential, including ability to present concepts verbally. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access is required, plus demonstrated knowledge in the following qualifications:

-         Fiber Installation Inspection and OTDR Fiber Testing

-         DMS Operation and Testing

-         Controller Operation and Testing

-         CCTV Installation, Operation and Testing

-         MVDS Operations and Testing

-         Functional capability working with Existing Communication Equipment and Switches

-         Electrical field service installations for transformers, disconnects and grounding
