AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. seeks Systems Engineer in Tampa, FL: Apply civil engineering design expertise to engineering workflows for transportation, rail, and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards (AASHTO, AREMA, ISO 15288); Act as a technical liaison between the project technical staff and project management regarding digital processes and system integration; Guide the development of design models, geometric alignments, and other Computer-Aided-Design workflows; Manage interface coordination across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders; Ensure requirements are managed throughout the project life cycle. Apply verification & validation processes to ensure compliance and safety; Develop the project system hierarchy for the purpose of organizing design information; Develop custom scripts, web applications, and digital tools to automate engineering workflows and optimize project execution; Configure and customize civil design software to improve usability and efficiency; Deploy SharePoint-based engineering data management solutions, including structured lists, forms, and automation scripts; Design and implement Azure-based web applications and APIs to enhance civil design data interoperability for design and management tools; Build custom applications for clients based on requirements. Apply agile software design methodology where possible; Develop custom reporting tools, dashboards, and query systems to enhance design review and project oversight; Support integration of engineering models (CAD, BIM, GIS) into project workflows, enabling better decision-making; Develop the digital thread in engineering projects to integrate requirements and integration artifacts into the design process; Supervise, mentor, and manage interns or junior engineers, providing hands-on guidance in civil design principles, engineering software, and digital workflows; Train junior staff on design standards, project processes, and technical documentation to ensure high-quality work output; Evaluate and improve civil engineering design processes, focusing on quality, resiliency, and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Systems Engineering, or the foreign equivalent and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Knowledge of: Alignment and grading design in Light Rail Transit (LRT) and heavy rail contexts; Ensuring design conformance with regulatory standards in civil, railway, and LRT projects; Ductbank, cabling and signal system design for interstation guideways; Use of AREMA, CN and TCRP 155 standards in track and systems design; Light rail and heavy rail infrastructure lifecycle phases from planning to commissioning; Interface specification and design integration for railway systems (signals, EMI, train control, telecommunications, civil and structural disciplines); Interface risk identification and resolution; Designing custom Information Management systems with role-based access, dashboards, and automated reporting; Development and management of BIM Execution Plans and workflows; Creation of Master Information Delivery Plans linked to schedule; Development of data governance frameworks for large infrastructure programs. International travel required 10% of the time for engineering site visits and client meetings. May be assigned to unanticipated work locations throughout the United States. Remote working or telecommuting permitted in all U.S. States, in accordance with company policy.
