Water Infrastructure Intern - Summer 2025

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Infrastructure Intern to join our Costa Mesa, California office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Data analysis for water quality, water resources, and environmental engineering projects
• Database management, including data entry, QA/QC, and data query using programming tools
• Assistance on water infrastructure projects involving wastewater treatment, water recycling, water resource and water quality management
• Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping
• Site visit and field monitoring
• Report writing
• Other assigned tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE: None required, but prior related experience a plus
• EDUCATION: Must have completed a minimum of 60 hours towards an environmental science, water resources, civil or environmental engineering degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Summer 2025)
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong data analytical and programming skills; GIS; environmental science/engineering knowledge, especially on water quality and water resources
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: None required

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
