We have a great opportunity in our Bangalore office for an ambitious Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our experienced and dynamic team to help deliver a range of projects primarily in the infrastructure sector (roads, rail, water and commercial / industrial development).
This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role as a technical reviewer in the ground engineering input to some of our most challenging projects.

Requirements:

The successful applicant will be a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.

Candidates should have:

• A minimum of 22+ years industrial experience in a similar organisation

• A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc/Meng/MTech or equivalent)

• Chartered status (C.Eng, P.Eng,P.E, or equivalent)

• Proven experience of acting as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment

• Highly experienced with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS (2D&3D) SLOPE/W, WALLAP, PDISP, VDISP & REPUTE.

• Proven Geotechnical design experience

• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead Geotechnical design teams

• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients

• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs

• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work

• A willingness to travel on short assignments both to the UK and overseas

Desirable Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering plus master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, P.hD., or equivalent is preferred.

• Structural engineering codes and standards experience is preferred.

• Strong understanding of Engineering Geology and Geotechnical design and Construction Methods.

• Numerical modelling software experience for design of excavations and/or concrete structures is preferred.

• Sufficient post-graduation experience, with a significant proportion gained with an engineering design company undertaking the design of Geotechnical or related infrastructure in Soft Ground and Hard Ground.
