We're looking for a Senior Project Manager who can manage projects strategically and operationally, ensuring the best use of technical and human resources while meeting specifications, timelines, and budget goals. In this role, you'll plan, monitor, and lead engineering and construction projects from initiation through completion, driving success every step of the way.
What will you do?
Health, Safety & Quality
Ensure Safety, Health, and Environmental standards are implemented at the highest level, fully aligned with company and customer governance requirements
Secure all necessary permits and legal documentation ahead of project execution
Uphold the highest quality standards throughout the entire project lifecycle
Develop and implement comprehensive project quality plans
Financial & Performance Accountability
Take full responsibility for managing large-scale, multimillion-pound projects, covering commercial, technical, and site construction aspects
Drive projects to achieve or exceed performance targets
Create cost-effective strategies for timely and efficient project completion
Monitor progress, oversee financial performance, and ensure quality compliance
Leadership & Team Management
Lead a portfolio of complex projects, including resource allocation, recruitment, and performance management
Mentor and manage project managers, enabling them to lead their teams effectively
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Project Lifecycle Management
Secure required resources and apply formal processes and tools to manage budgets, risks, and change control
Align project approach, timing, and impact with organizational strategy and external market dynamics
Make strategic decisions and provide clear direction to project managers for successful implementation
Support future business growth by advising sales and tendering teams with insights and expertise
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
Act as the senior customer interface, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded
Collaborate with Supply Chain to select subcontractors, negotiate terms, and manage contracts
Maintain regular communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to report progress
Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with customers and partners
Market Awareness
Stay informed on industry developments, market trends, and competitor activities
Share insights and knowledge to strengthen organizational positioning and project success
Who you are?
Bachelor'S or master's degree in engineering or business administration, or equivalent experience delivering complex projects in the transmission market
Project Management Certification (PMP preferred but not mandatory)
Experienced in managing electrical transmission projects, including civil construction
Skilled in risk mitigation and opportunity management to avoid delays and reputational damage
Proven track record of delivering large-scale, multimillion-pound projects successfully
Business-minded with the ability to align project goals with overall business objectives
Strong leadership and negotiation skills, able to resolve issues and build positive customer relationships
Highly organized with the ability to develop and manage effective processes
Analytical and problem-solving skills combined with practical, sustainable solutions in a changing environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, confident in leading projects during challenging times
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain constructive collaboration
Initiative-driven, applying creativity and perseverance while adhering to the company's Code of Conduct
