Overview

The Application Administrator is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of designated software applications. This includes installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, user management, and performance tuning. The role demands an analytical mindset, technical proficiency, and a customer-focused approach to solving problems and delivering value. Candu is seeking someone to administer several applications, including Primavera, ECOSYS, AVECTO, SAP SuccessFactors and potentially others.
Your role
System level activities required to support the software, which include activity items such as:
- Application Management: Install, configure, and maintain business applications and systems. Coordinate with vendors and IT teams to ensure applications are deployed and patched according to best practices.
- User Support: Provide technical support to end users, addressing issues, managing user accounts and permissions, and resolving tickets within agreed service levels.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor application performance, identify, bottlenecks or errors, and proactively recommend and implement optimizations to ensure availability and efficiency.
- Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan, test, and execute upgrades or patches for applications, minimizing downtime and ensuring system integrity during and after updates.
- Security: Implement and maintain security controls for applications, including user authentication, access control, data protection, and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including installation guides, configuration notes, troubleshooting procedures, and change logs.
- Incident and Problem Management: Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve recurring issues.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with software vendors for support issues, licensing, renewals, and service improvements.
- Integration: Collaborate with development and integration teams to support the seamless connection of applications with other systems and data sources.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and regularly test backup and recovery strategies for critical application data to ensure business continuity.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on application health, usage statistics, compliance, and user satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with new releases, features, and trends in the application landscape. Advocate for and implement improvements that enhance business processes.

About you
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years in application administration or a related IT support role.
- Strong technical knowledge of enterprise application environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with a range of operating systems (Windows, Linux), databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), and application platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, custom web applications).
- Security Awareness: Understanding of IT security principles and experience applying them to enterprise applications.
- Scripting: Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
- Integration: Experience with APIs and integration tools to connect disparate systems.
- Documentation: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation for diverse audiences.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams, including developers, business analysts, and external vendors.
- Customer Service: Commitment to providing high-quality support and building positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to Detail: Rigorous approach to maintaining system integrity, security, and compliance.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently, delivering results within agreed timelines.
- Continuous Learning: Proactive attitude towards developing new skills and mastering emerging technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner to colleagues with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
