We are seeking an Environmental Manager to join our Environmental Assessment & Community Engagement (EA&CE) Team, in the Prairie Region Your day-to-day work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes of work, including identifying environmental needs and compliance, coordinating subject matter expert inputs to risk, preparation of plans, reports. Reviewing results interpretation against accepted standards or requirements, and provision of time-sensitive tasks where quick response times are critical.
Location - Preferably based out of our Calgary or Edmonton offices. Other office locations across the Prairie Region could be considered, e.g., Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg.
Your role
- Oversee and/or complete project environmental obligations and deliverables. Safeguard environmental and social risks are fully incorporated.
- Develop, prepare and maintain proposals, business development, as well as project tasks, schedules and budgets for the environmental component of projects.
- Prepare permit applications and technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements.
- Delegate tasks and activities to other team members and provide supervisory guidance, mentoring and coaching.
- Confirm quality of work such as work plans, field programs, data collection and analysis, mapping, technical reports, plans, and monitoring. Follow-through on environmental compliance and management system auditing programs.
- Liaise with the client and support on relations with stakeholders, partners, agencies, public and Indigenous groups.
- Oversee or conduct field work, including environmental monitoring, field studies, research, and data collection.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or Environmental Studies.
- 7+ years of practical, progressive environmental consulting experience including construction environmental management and regulatory permitting, compliance, best practices, standard methods, EMS, applicable laws, bylaws and regulations legislative environmental requirements.
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills in working with a broad range of environmental disciplines and infrastructure projects, and to lead staff at different levels of career development.
- Exceptional organizational skills and communication skills (English proficiency, written and verbal).
- Commitment to excellence, quality control, quality management, attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving ability.
- Full or Provisional membership in a professional body e.g., P.Biol., R.P.Bio, P.Ag.
- Project management experience and/or accreditation or eligibility considered an asset (CAPM or PMP).
- Demonstrated experience conducting field work; formal training or certification such as EMCPP, CISEC, CESCL, CPESC considered an asset.
- You must possess a valid driver's license.
