Overview
Electrical Infra. BIM Engineer supports high-voltage transmission and distribution projects by converting engineering concepts into accurate, fully documented drawings for substations and transmission lines. The role involves close collaboration with engineers and project teams to deliver detailed design and construction-ready documentation.
Your role
- Translate engineering sketches and markups into properly documented drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, AC and DC single-line diagrams, arrangement drawings, structure and assembly drawings, plan and profiles, route maps, foundations, and grounding systems for substations and transmission lines.
- Assist Engineers by transforming preliminary design drawings into detailed design deliverables.
- Ensure drawings are prepared in accordance with applicable drafting codes, standards, and predefined design criteria.
- Support Engineers and project team members in the preparation and assembly of Issued for Construction (IFC) documents and drawing packages.
- Provide ongoing technical support to Engineers throughout the project to facilitate required approvals and sign-offs.
- Review and assess field construction markups to develop accurate As-Built drawing packages.
- Participate in occasional project site visits to obtain design details as required.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of strong experience in high-voltage transmission and distribution substation physical layout and section drawings.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Inventor and/or Revit is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with PLS-CADD or similar transmission line design software is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within project schedules.
- General knowledge of electrical and civil design principles.
