Overview
Reporting functionally to the Director of Retube Tooling Design, the Excellence Manager - Field Services would support a SME team responsible for the delivery of many Field Services projects. The Excellence Manager will support the governance of design and technical activities in a site project delivery environment in accordance with industry standards and will be responsible for balancing the SME support over existing and emergent projects. This leader will be responsible for a team of expert Field Services individuals executing commercial and internal work packages and projects, in a single discipline or set of closely related disciplines.
Your role
- Oversees team size, resource allocation, and expertise to meet project and emergent operational needs.
- Ensures staff maintain required training, qualifications, and compliance with nuclear codes, standards, and governance procedures.
- Provides leadership through clear expectations, performance metrics, coaching, recognition, and discipline when necessary.
- Manages performance reviews and handles human‑resource matters, including resolving employee issues effectively.
- Ensures engineering deliverables meet contractual customer requirements and supports strong client relationships.
- Removes barriers, guides technical approaches, and fosters a collaborative team environment to achieve project objectives efficiently.

About you
- University degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive nuclear industry experience, including leading technical teams.
- Proven experience in nuclear refurbishment tooling and construction project environments.
- Skilled in managing tooling projects that interface with multiple functions (Mechanical, Electrical, Human Factors, Procurement, QA, Contracts, Construction).
- Strong leadership, coaching, client‑focus, and conflict‑resolution abilities, with a track record of managing complex technical projects.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites based on corporate needs.
Additional, preferred qualifications (mandatory for some projects):
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing or eligible to obtain such registration within 6 months of hiring.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 2 security clearance.
- Experience in executing projects that are subject to import/export controls.
