Overview
The Senior Engineer – Retube Installation Tooling is responsible for leading engineering activities related to Retube Installation Tooling, with a particular focus on Calandria Tube Installation tooling. This role provides technical leadership, oversees project deliverables, and ensures engineering excellence in accordance with schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Your role
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering staff while managing team workload and aligning resources with project priorities.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight on tooling design activities, supporting capability growth and performance improvement across the team.
- Independently apply and adapt standard engineering methods to evaluate designs, solve technical problems, and guide project execution.
- Oversee design, development, modification, and testing of Retube tooling systems, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables—including specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and vendor documentation—while resolving manufacturing and installation issues.
- Engage with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet project requirements and customer expectations, including support for proposals and internal submissions.
- Ensure project execution aligns with schedule, quality, and cost targets, providing oversight to maintain organizational and technical standards.
- Demonstrate sound engineering judgment and ensure all required training, qualifications, and compliance records are maintained.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8–10 years of hands‑on engineering experience; Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with PEO.
- Experience in Retube Installation Tooling—especially Calandria Tube Installation tooling—is a strong asset.
- Proven leadership ability in directing engineering teams and coordinating multi‑disciplinary technical work.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple parallel technical projects.
- Experience working within Canadian‑licensed nuclear facilities is an asset; must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Willingness to travel and potentially work onsite to support project execution needs.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with effective stakeholder‑management capabilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, supported by strong interpersonal abilities for collaboration across large teams.
