Overview

You will join our Infrastructure business, supporting the delivery of some of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure programmes.

We are looking for a Document Controller who is organised, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-moving project environment. You will play an important role in making sure project information is controlled, accessible and reliable, helping delivery teams and clients work effectively and make informed decisions.

We are particularly interested in people who look beyond simply administering documents. We want people who are curious about how things could work better, comfortable adopting digital technology and willing to challenge and improve established ways of working.

Whether you are an experienced Document Controller or looking to take the next step in your career, we will support you to broaden your Information Management capability. You will have the opportunity to develop beyond traditional document control, working alongside experienced Information Management professionals and progressing along our Information Management career pathway.

Your role

  • To help project teams maintain trusted, controlled and accessible information that supports effective project delivery, collaboration and decision-making.
  • Receive, register, distribute, track and monitor project drawings, documents and information.
  • Maintain accurate document metadata, registers and records within project Common Data Environments and electronic document management systems.
  • Coordinate document reviews, approval workflows, information exchanges and transmittals.
  • Monitor the status of project information and help teams meet agreed review and delivery timescales.
  • Produce regular document control and information status reports for project teams and clients.
  • Respond professionally to internal and external requests for documentation and information.
  • Support project teams in applying agreed document control and Information Management processes.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance on document control requirements and ways of working.
  • Develop and support the delivery of training, guidance and awareness sessions to help project teams understand and apply document control and Information Management processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve quality and make better use of digital tools.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, designers, project managers, technical teams and delivery partners.
  • Support and share knowledge with less experienced colleagues where required.
  • Take responsibility for health, safety and environmental considerations within your own work.
