Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of consultancy advice across our growing portfolio. The Southampton Office of AtkinsRéalis is looking to develop its existing team currently providing Project Management services across a wide portfolio of projects bridging both public, private and central government clients. Reporting to the PM Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of projects, for a number of our core, high profile regional clients.
Your role
Project Management
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and governance of projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, in line with internal governance requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance tracking against agreed milestones and objectives.
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing effective strategies to minimise disruption and delays.
- Be accountable for project finance, including monthly forecasting, invoicing, and monitoring and control of sub‑consultant spend.
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication, alignment of goals, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support and strengthen client relationships by encouraging feedback, ensuring positive client interactions, and driving lessons learned where required.
- Embrace, promote, and support the rollout and adoption of market‑leading digital platforms and innovative delivery approaches.
- Provide mentoring and pastoral support to junior colleagues, offering QA, professional advice, and leadership support aligned with local leadership objectives.
- Support the Lead in identifying new business opportunities, contributing to proposals, presentations, strategic planning, and resource allocation to drive team growth into 2024/25.
- Act as a trusted liaison between internal teams, external partners, clients, and community stakeholders, cultivating positive working relationships and representing the consultancy's brand professionally in all communications.

About you
- Extensive experience in project management, with a focus on development projects involving buildings, property and places.
- Aspirations to develop existing project management qualifications and progress to Chartered Project Manager status with either APM or RICS.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex client organisations, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and information to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of identifying opportunities and implementing innovative solutions to achieve project goals.
