Overview
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager of Traction Power & Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) to provide technical leadership and act as the Engineer of Record for the Calgary Green Line LRT project. This role will lead the design development, oversee multi‑disciplinary coordination, and provide continued engineering support through both the design and construction phases of this major urban transit program.
The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, eligible to practice in Alberta, and will play a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and constructible traction power and OCS systems for one of the country's most significant rail infrastructure investments.
Your role
- Serve as Engineer of Record for Traction Power and Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) for the Calgary Green Line project.
- Lead and manage traction power and OCS system design from concept through post IFC detailed design and construction phase.
- Take responsible charge for technical decisions, design quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
- Establish and maintain system design criteria, standards, and performance requirements.
- Provide ongoing engineering support during construction, including RFIs, field reviews, and design changes.
- Coordinate technical interfaces with civil, track, systems, utilities, stakeholders, and contractors.
- Support testing, commissioning, and system handover activities.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, eligible for licensure in Alberta.
- 10+ years of experience in traction power and/or overhead catenary systems for rail or LRT projects.
- Proven experience acting as Engineer of Record on complex infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects through design development and construction phases.
