Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Information Manager to support the delivery of major, complex infrastructure programmes across the North of the UK.

Our Information Managers operate at the heart of complex project environments, connecting people, processes, information and technology to enable better project outcomes. You will work alongside clients, multidisciplinary project teams and delivery partners to define information requirements, establish governance and assurance processes, improve information flows and embed effective Common Data Environment (CDE) solutions.

This is an opportunity to work on some of the UK's most challenging and high-profile programmes, helping clients improve how information supports project delivery, decision-making, assurance and long-term asset outcomes.

You will join our Asset and Information Management team within the Infrastructure business, becoming part of a growing capability that supports clients in delivering major programmes through the effective management, governance and assurance of information across the project lifecycle.

Your role

We are looking for collaborative, delivery-focused Information Management professionals who thrive in large, multidisciplinary and complex project environments.

Working across major programmes throughout the North of the UK, you will engage directly with clients, project leadership teams, suppliers and delivery partners to understand information challenges and implement practical, scalable solutions. This will include defining Information Management requirements and standards, developing governance arrangements, supporting CDE deployment and optimisation, and assuring information delivery across projects and programmes.

The role extends beyond traditional BIM or document control activities. We are looking for individuals who can identify information-related risks, improve information flows across complex organisations and supply chains, and help project teams adopt more effective ways of working.

You will bring a strong understanding of Information Management and ISO 19650 principles, combined with experience supporting major infrastructure projects. Experience within aviation, water, defence, energy, nuclear or other complex engineering environments would be particularly advantageous.

You will be a curious and innovative thinker who looks beyond established Information Management practices, challenges conventional approaches and works collaboratively to develop practical solutions. You will have many of the following attributes:

Technical

  • An ability to rapidly align to client need, delivery capability and design requirement to develop an Information Management and Digital Strategy for our Clients and delivery teams that is tangible, deliverable, and will deliver value to our client and project team.

  • Programme level management of multiple work package teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data to our clients.
  • Advisory and delivery capabilities in developing and enabling a technology stack (CDE and wider) strategy, then ensuring it is implemented and used across our client and supplier teams.
  • Ability to design the necessary workflows and processes to ensure adoption of technology across delivery supply chains. This might include traditional 'BIM' technologies, utilization of GIS data environments, or adoption of collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Teams, Miro/Slack/Trello).
  • Ability to guide, advise and enable project set up support – for example, BEP development and implementation including establishing project related processes, protocols and CDE arrangements.
  • Ability to work across the broader business to ensure successful discipline integration around Information Management and technology development. This will include reach-back to our other technical experts in BIM, GIS, digital engineering, automation, machine learning and design.
  • The Drive and ambition to stay informed of digital tools developments within the wider business and identify opportunities for transfer of tools, knowledge, and skills.

Behaviours

  • Intensely collaborative, understanding that AtkinsRéalis, our supply chain, our partners in delivery, and our clients are one team – you are the voice and champion of that whenever you represent our business.
  • Commercial awareness, ability to tailor strategy and technical requirements to company demands.

Delivery focus

  • Willingness to lead change management processes.
  • Driven to pursue continued education in BIM and connect with wider internal and external industry community.
  • Experience in providing BIM/IM consultancy services including technical advice and guidance.
  • Experience in the application of agile delivery methodologies to manage and maintain delivery strategies for project teams and clients.
