Training Analyst – Course Development

Location - Mississauga, ON

The Course Development Training Analyst will report to the Manager of Training. With the growth of our organization, the Training Department will be moving to a role-based training approach to better equip our employees with the skills necessary to perform their jobs with confidence. The Course Development Training Analyst will be responsible for designing and developing new course content, updating existing course offerings and delivering training where applicable. This will require collaboration with functional leads and technical subject matter experts to identify and prioritize training needs. This role will require expertise with various training management systems, course development software and digital solutions.

Your role within the team:

  • Collaborate with functional management to assess employee training needs to develop, design, digitize and refresh training material and content in support of role-based training requirements.
  • Utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools to incorporate high quality graphics, animations/simulations, drawings, pictures, and other graphical representations to update and refresh training material to clarify concepts, support and enhance written and oral information, and to challenge trainees to demonstrate understanding of the course content.
  • Ability to construct the overall flow and vision of course offerings ensuring that the content matches the needs assessment course requirements.
  • Ensure the Systematic Approach to Training is applied consistently across all courseware development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments as required.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external training vendors.
  • Assist in preparing training schedules and coordinating multiple assignments requiring use of learning management system.
  • Contributes to the growth of the Candu business and keeps conversant with advanced training trends and developments.
  • Ensure compliance with government legislation and regulations with regards to employee training requirements.
  • Maintain a process of continuous improvement, feedback and action to spot areas of opportunity, including the automation of repetitive tasks where possible.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar training development or analyst role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Education, Training or related field.
  • Understanding of Adult Learning Principles and the Systematic Approach to Training Process.
  • Experience in an office environment.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to remain positive and calm in a hectic environment.
  • Excellent internal customer relationship skills.
  • Reliable self-starter who can identify what needs to be done and take initiative who can work independently with limited direction.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of urgency, responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and handle unexpected situations effectively.
  • Knowledge of office processes, procedures, equipment, and filing systems.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience with Workday, or other HR and training/learning management systems are considered an asset.
  • Experience with Candu operations preferred. Necessary Competencies:

  • Required Interfaces:

    • Primary work location will be in the Mississauga, ON office. Occasional travel to other project sites may be required.
