CNC Machinist (Lathe or Mill) - Afternoon Shift

Location – Mississauga, ON

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

o   Perform programming, set-up, and machining, using Manual and CNC Lathe or Milling machine

o   Complete the machining process from start to finish – including programming, 100% independently

o   Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazak controls

o   MasterCam (or other Cad/Cam software) knowledge a definite asset on lathe, mandatory for milling applicants

o   Wire EDM programming and setup a definite asset

o   Proficient ability to read drawings and accurately machine close-tolerance parts often within 0.0005” tolerance

o   Efficiently and safely use machines; keep tooling, machines, and work areas clean and organized

o   Work with minimal to no supervision

o   Be accountable to machine shop supervisor and/or job leader as applicable

o   Work according to quality procedures

o   Work in a safe manner and follow jurisdictional safety rules

o   Be available to work planned overtime when/if needed
 

What will you contribute?

o   5 to 10 years of relevant experience

o   Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent

o   Completed a general machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent.

o   Proficient in reading drawings

o   Experience with CAD/CAM Software

o   Completed a CNC training program

o   Good verbal and written communication

o   Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

o   Able to pass certification requirements for operation of overhead cranes

o   Must be willing to be designated as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW)
