  • Monitor construction progress and prepare regular progress reports.
  • Record deviations from approved designs and document them in progress reports.
  • Coordinate all design deviations with Engineering and Construction teams.
  • Prepare red-line markups and submit to Engineering for incorporation into record drawings.

  • Develop and maintain a project schedule, providing regular updates to the District.
  • Prepare cost estimates, job budgets, and man-hour estimates when applicable.
  • Develop lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate procurement needs and provide procurement support as required.

Power & Mechanical Engineering Group Support (Up to 25%):

  • Provide engineering and construction support services independent of the UPS Replacement Project.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordination of engineering and construction services on projects of moderate scope.
  • Coordinate work with engineers, technical staff, construction personnel, and other disciplines.
  • Support engineering investigations, planning efforts, and operational system evaluations.
  • Perform other engineering-related tasks as directed by the District's Power & Mechanical Engineering Group.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attend project meetings, coordination meetings, and technical reviews as required.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of technical reports, plans, and documentation for review and approval.
  • Uphold engineering ethics, professional standards, and District policies.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the District or Technical Manager in support of project and departmental objectives.

Complexity & Decision-Making:

  • Performs work involving conventional engineering practices with potentially complex features such as conflicting design requirements, coordination challenges, or construction constraints.
  • Most assignments are performed independently, with approval required for proposed plans and major deliverables.
  • Exercises sound engineering judgment but does not sign or seal engineering documents.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Coordinates and may review the work of junior engineers, technicians, and support staff assisting with specific assignments.
  • Interfaces regularly with senior technical professionals, technical managers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory or external stakeholders.
