Overview
Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for Preparing production plans and schedules for multiple projects progressing through machine shop, fabrication shop, Instrumentation & Controls lab, metrology department, Metallurgy and Clean assembly room within the Manufacturing and materials management department.
Your role
- Create, maintain and communicate production plan and detailed Schedules with clear list of priorities for various departments within the manufacturing services.
- Significant use of planning and scheduling capabilities of JobBoss® ERP Job Shop Management Solutions system.
- Participate in material requirement planning meetings and kick- off meetings for individual projects.
- Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and material handler for the availability of raw materials and management of material inventory.
- Provide lead time inputs to technical leads during project estimation phase.
- Prepare and maintain project performance reports and other reports – Dashboard reporting for the management.
- Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material constraints and recommend appropriate action.
- Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high-volume months.
- Work with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes with scheduling during daily plan-of-the-day meetings.
- Work with project delivery team to set goals, objectives, and success factors and analyze project status.

About you
- 2-3 years of related project/ production scheduling and cost control experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Post-Secondary Certification in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM – APICS) is preferred.
- Diploma in the field of Engineering and/or Technology or Construction Technology or equivalent is an asset.
- Knowledge of Production planning and control methods and familiarity of nuclear industry.
- Proficiency with Jobboss ERP is highly desirable.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Able to find new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into existing practices as needed.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, adaptability and team working skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, lead business discussions and train others.
