Overview

Your role
- Reviewing the status of existing buildings prior to project design, performing site take offs.
- Assist in developing designs and technical specifications for systems such as Heating, Air conditioning, Ventilation, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, building controls, along with other related systems.
- Assisting others in the office with several projects – a knowledge sharing atmosphere.
- Coordinating system requirements with the electrical department, architects, relevant authorities.
- Assist in developing feasibility studies and technical reports.
- Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD and TEKLA, and three-dimensional computer modeling.
- Follow client driven file management system for document storage.
- Prepare engineering deliverables (drawings and 3D models) for both nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc./Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
- Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate with design team to ensure the compliances.
- Interface with Engineering teams, throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements.
- Must be "Team" oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with other and promote a positive work environment.

About you
- College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years in mechanical design and drafting.
- Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Micro Station, Navisworks Freedom and TEKLA (knowledge of TEKLA is an asset).
- Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.
