The East Harbour Transit Hub Alliance is in search of a Coop Student (Quality) in Toronto.  The Coop Student (Quality) role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision. The Coop Student (Quality) will gain construction experience by working closely with and supporting the Quality Inspectors and Coordinators.

Location – Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Work with the team to conduct quality inspections on materials and construction activities as detailed in the relevant ITP’s and ensure all completed work is in conformance with the project requirements.
  • Assist the construction and quality managers in the preparation of inspection and test plans (ITP’s) for all the constructions activities.
  • Prepare quality report summaries which track status of all inspections and tests and ensure that all non-comforting product, activity or procedure is recorded in the non-conformance report (NCR) and make any necessary recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist the team in the resolution of NCRs in a timely manner and ensure that the corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
  • Implement stop work orders when materials, works or processes are deficient.
  • Ensure that construction teams are using the latest revision of drawings in coordination with document control.
  • Provide on-going quality system training and support aimed to the implementation of the quality management procedures and processes by project personnel.

  • Enrolled in technical degree/diploma program in Civil construction field.
  • Experience of project quality control/quality assurance in a construction environment a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and proven decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • This is a field position based at 415 Eastern Avenue, Toronto.
  • This is not a hybrid position; the hours of work will mirror the hours of work by the Quality field staff.
  • All PPE will be provided except CSA approved green patch construction safety boots.
