Job Summary:

Application Packaging Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day operational tasks including creating packages with a quick turnaround time and resolving any application/package issues.

Daily Operations:

  • Package, sequence, test and deploy MSI packages to workstations.
  • Create and/or modify scripts & script wrappers, for application installs.
  • Assist with automated deployments of packaged software.
  • Good knowledge in developing installation packages using one or more of the common packaging technologies – Admin Studio and Windows Installer (MSI, MST, conflict Management, VB Script, Custom actions, Powershell).
  • Produce quality application packages of varying complexity using MSI packaging to be deployed by SCCM.
  • Own and implement process and technical improvements including process documentation and compliance improvements.
  • Engage Application Owners/Developers/Vendors as needed to develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Work to agreed service level agreements using call management system.
  • Providing VDI support including installation, configuration, and operations of the environment.

  • Good communication skills and interface well with the business, line, and senior management.
  • To be customer focused and to display an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • To be a team player, working with others to provide a quality service.
  • Flexible in working on rotational shifts.

Application Packaging: Engineer

  • Knowledge of Flexera AdminStudio InstallShield.
  • Good knowledge on powershell scripting.
  • Knowledge on SCCM 2012 or above.
  • Application Compatibility testing and Software Distribution.
  • Creating transforms for customizing existing Windows Installer packages.
  • Application Compatibility Testing using MS ACT 5.x Toolkit/ AppDNA / AdminStudio.

Good to have:

  • Data analytics using PowerBI.
  • Provision of application license servers and configuring.
  • Prepare relevant documentation such as known errors, solutions, major incident reports that will help in continuous improvement.

Educational Qualifications:

Degree in Engineering or Science.
