At AtkinsRéalis, we are shaping resilient communities through innovative water and wastewater solutions. Across Western Canada, and especially in Alberta, municipalities, Indigenous communities, and utilities are investing in critical infrastructure for the future.
We are expanding our Water & Wastewater leadership team and are seeking a Portfolio Lead to grow and deliver our Western Canada portfolio. This role sits within our Water business and offers the opportunity to combine strategic leadership, technical excellence, and trusted client relationships to drive sustainable growth.
Your role
Reporting to the Water Market Lead for Western Canada, you would focus on:
Market Growth and Client Leadership (seller-doer):
Proactively engage with key clients, develop and maintain relationships, and act as a trusted advisor to municipal, regional district, Indigenous and utility clients across Alberta.
Actively participate in developing the strategy, shaping opportunities and chasing pursuits for water and wastewater programs and projects.
Integral to delivering year-on-year growth in regard to both volume and profitability.
Guide Go/No Go decisions, win strategies, value propositions that reflect client priorities not just fee targets. Continue to engage with clients on project execution and/or debriefs.
Develop partnerships to pursue, win and deliver work.
Oversee Standing Offer contracts and provide oversight of Project Delivery performance associated with the portfolio.
Grow the portfolio sustainably, balancing revenue, margin, and long‑term relationships.
Portfolio and Delivery Leadership:
Oversee and provide oversight to a portfolio of water and wastewater engineering projects (planning, design, construction support, asset management).
Partner closely with Project Managers to drive forward quality, financial performance, and risk management, without micromanagement.
Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet objectives.
Validate change requests/contractual amendments/manage waivers and claims.
Champion continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery and bring lessons learned forward to improve how we win and deliver work across Alberta.
