CAD Tech Trainee (Land Development)

Under immediate supervision, performs basic computer-assisted drafting tasks to acquire the necessary CAD skills and applicable software knowledge to support the technical services of the company.  Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

How will you contribute to the team? 

Applies standard civil computer drafting practices and techniques in specific situations which may include the following:

• Develops familiarity with CAD software and related equipment and procedures.  Performs basic tasks to develop required skills and familiarity with applicable CAD software and procedures.

• Enters basic data, as instructed, such as measurements and commands, in order to generate construction drawings, renderings, report graphics and other digital images.

• Edits existing designs, following detailed instructions.

• Makes minor mathematical calculations.

• Checks drawing to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy, and presents to supervisor for review.

• Takes on-line software training programs and reads manuals and other instructional materials to develop familiarity with CAD products and company/departmental procedures.

• Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus two years related experience OR enrolled in an Associates Degree program in a related technical field is required.

• Mathematical and computer skills required.

• Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing CADD, technical writing, and communications skills.

• Job requires ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at CAD workstation.
