We are seeking a Chief HV electrical engineer to join our growing Nuclear and Power Market. This position would be based on one of our core UK offices (Glasgow, Birmingham or Epsom, although we have office locations across the UK which would be considered) with a flexible mixture of home-working and office time expected.

If you are someone who can deliver multiple projects at the same time, work closely with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects and deliver right-first-time solutions for the most challenging problems in the transmission and distribution industry, then we’d love you to apply.

Your Purpose:

You will be working in our NetZero business in a senior position within our HV electrical engineering team. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight to the engineering teams. It may include:

  • Technical governance and quality assurance.
  • Capability development and planning.
  • Review and approval of bid proposals.
  • Leading technical delivery of projects.
  • Managing client relationships.
  • Some travel to client sites or our other offices.

What you can bring:

  • You have a high attention to detail and will be comfortable supporting Quality Assurance processes through review or checking of colleagues’ work and presenting your findings / work to back to the business or to clients.
  • You are comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally. You will have a proven track record of working effectively as part of a project team.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer through the IET or working towards.
  • Demonstrable ability to guide and develop others. A high attention to detail.
  • BP141 / TP141 Design Assurance qualification or equivalent authorised or ability to do so.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.  If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
