We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our growing Construction Management Team of high-energy, motivated professionals. This position is based out of Denver, CO.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Plans and organizes the administration and delivery of construction observation and reporting activities.
  • Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.
  • Uses engineering judgement to review and resolve changed and/or unforeseen conditions and advises external client/owner of any failures or delays.
  • Directs subordinate internal staff involved in the observation of construction work; observation, testing, and sampling of construction materials; and documentation of plan revisions and work progress.
  • Is responsible for reporting project cost and quality control/quality assurance activities to client.
  • Coordinates construction monitoring with client/owner to resolve problems, disputes and scheduling of work, and to prepare contract changes and supplemental agreements.
  • Performs non-manual field work that involves applying acquired knowledge and experience to observe moderately complex construction contracts and related activities.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field, including management and supervision of field personnel. Without a degree, 20+ years of related experience is required.
  • 10+ Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • Professional Engineer registration is required. (or prior experience as a CDOT CEPM II)
  • Ability to obtain certifications in applicable areas of work as required by clients.
  • Prior experience on at least 1 CDOT or Local Agency construction project is highly preferred.
  • Strong skills in leadership, management, and oral & written communications.
  • Strong mathematical, computer, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communications skills; willingness to learn.
  • Ability to travel for work is desired but not required.
  • Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl to inspect work; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain, equipment/traffic, and other hazards.
  • Position may require nonstandard work shifts, such as overtime hours, weekend shifts, and/or night shifts as per the client’s and/or manager’s direction.
  • Position requires driving company vehicle. Incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.

Expected compensation range is between $110,000 - $140,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
