Electrical Engineer in Training

The buildings group in Vancouver, BC provide mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings in the Transportation (Light Rail, Airports, Road Tunnels), Healthcare, Light Industrial, Municipal, Institutional, and National Défense. Our clients and projects and varied and diverse, with upcoming projects in Canada and the United Stations of America. Our electrical group is dynamic and tight-knit, servicing both local projects and contributing to large remote projects as part of distributed virtual project teams.

We are growing and looking for an Electrical Engineer in Training to join our team in Vancouver, BC.

Your role within the team:

  • Assist with the preparation of drawings and schematics.
  • Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
  • Work with project team and Project Manager to ensure on-time project completion.
  • Escalate resource issues to the appropriate Project Manager.
  • Review architectural and structural drawings.
  • Work with contractors and respond to technical inquiries.
  • Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of the project.
  • Help establish and promote client relationships.
  • Strive to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients.
  • Overtime as required.

The ideal candidate:

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as an Engineer in Training in British Columbia.
  • Experience working with relevant codes including, BCBC, NBC, CEC, ASHRAE 90.1, relevant CSA Standards (C282, Z32, Z317.5, B44, etc.), ULC-S524 and S537 is considered an asset.
  • Experience working on complex electrical building systems and designing building services in a variety of building types is considered an asset, especially light industrial, healthcare, transportation facilities, and municipal buildings.
  • Computer Skills - MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT  (Micro-station experience is an asset).
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $62,200 - $85,500 annually (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
