A 16 month co-op position, for candidates interested in working on the planning/scheduling of work on a large scale construction project. Reporting to the Canatom work planning specialist, the Junior planner will work with the Retube and Feeder Replacement (RFR) Construction series.

Location – Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:

• Prepare and develop complex construction and engineering schedules using Primavera (P6).
• Prepare reports for management regarding project scheduling activities.
• Work with Construction and Series Leads on scheduling activities and assist them in determining schedule priorities.
• Provide support to other planners.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and resource plans utilizing project management techniques and software.
• Interface with engineering personnel, project management and other performing organizations to assess and report project progress, as required.
• Facilitate the development of remedial action plans.

The ideal candidate:

• Engineering student preferred, minimum 3rd year or higher.
• Knowledge of Power plant technology and CANDU nuclear generating stations will be beneficial to the position.
• Prior construction or engineering experience would be an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible, ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and time-pressured
  environment.
• Familiar with MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 would be beneficial, but not mandatory.  Selected candidate will be provided training.
