We are currently looking for a Project Manager to support the Sustainable Mine Development group at the Mining and Metallurgy division of AtkinsRéalis. This position is to report to Sr. Director Tailings, Water, and geotechnical engineering. AtkinsRéalis’s mandate is for the management of a major portfolio of brownfield plant upgrades. 

This opportunity will be to support the M&M business located in any of the major cities of Canada: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Sudbury.

Your role within the team:

  • Manage projects to ensure that schedule and cost objectives are met in the delivery of the projects through the various gates including study, execution, and closeout.
  • Manage and coordinate a Geotechnical or multi-discipline team on the projects and subcontractors engaged to the project.
  • Lead and mentor the project team in accomplishing the projects goals, while keeping the project within budget and on schedule and ensuring the safe execution of a quality project.
  • Ensure project control functions in scheduling, cost control and reporting support the project and company requirements.
  • Support proposal preparation to define scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop project execution plan that reflects/encompasses the scope, schedule, budget, and risks defined in the proposal.

The ideal candidate:
 

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the mining industry, with a focus on Civil/ Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical, Environmental, Geological, Civil, Mining engineering, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is considered an asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible for P.Eng status in any Canadian province.
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills and abilities by conveying recommendations, ideas, and insights in reports, presentation materials, client proposals, and other written communications.
  • Leadership and conflict resolution skills. Experience managing small to medium-sized projects (up to $5M).

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $98,000 - $134,800 annually) (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
