Roadway Engineering Co-op Student - Winter 2025

**Possibility for a 4-, 8- or 12-months duration**

Our Road & Utilities engineering team is looking for a Roadway Engineering Co-op Student to join and support our growing team in Toronto.

Location - Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:

The selected candidate will assist in the preparation of preliminary/detail highway and municipal design:

  • Quantity calculations, design reports, contract drawings and contract documents, property requests, field inspections.

  • Preparation of proposals or expression of interest for road and utility design projects.

  • Draft drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, based on mark-ups from the engineer or designer.

  • Perform routine calculations and design as directed.

  • Prepare, update and issue drawings and other documents, as directed, to document control.

  • Interact with technical specialists, design leads and/or construction personnel.

The ideal candidate:

  • A 3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering student who has completed roadway geometric design, transportation, municipal engineering, hydrology and storm water management courses is preferred.

  • Exposure to Ontario and/or TAC geometric design standards for roads and underground utility design (sewers and watermains) would be an asset.

  • Exposure to detail design, contract preparation and road construction inspection would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of the following computer programs is an asset: AutoCAD, MicroStation, AutoTurn, InRoads, Civil 3D, HiCo, CPS, MS Project.

  • Excellent MS Office skills.

  • Excellent time management and organization skills, and ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.

  • Excellent relationship skills; able to build trust and advocacy with others.

  • Valid Drivers License is required.
