Role Summary

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design delivery of Transmission or Substation assets between our Delivery partners to ensure scope and employers’ requirements. You will be managing the interface between the design, engineering, our Client’s SME’s and asset management teams.

This position will support and report to our Client’s Technical / Design Director and will be responsible for the overall design and engineering delivery of the project.

You will be supported by 1-2 Junior Project Engineers.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholder across the technical requirements of the project
  • Managing the compliance across all aspects of the engineering process within the project
  • Monitoring and tracking the design deliverables and schedules, managing RFIs, design changes, NCRs to ensure successful project completion
  • Supporting the construction team to resolve any engineering issues during the construction phase
  • Ensuring compliance across technical design, HSE, Budget, time and quality requirements as well as managing engineering project risks, reporting progress and proactively resolving issues as they arise to mitigate impact.
  • Accountable for leading the compilation of project specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, delivering a high level of service.

Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities

  • High level of technical knowledge within the design and construction of transmission assets (lines or substations)
  •     Significant experience successfully delivering engineering outcomes including project scope, specification development, managing design reviews, onsite inspection, and safety in design processes
  •     Understanding of transmission system reliability and performance, substation and transmission system components, performance, and operation
  •     Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
  •    Ability to work as part of a team in the design, construction and management of large, complex    infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent and ideally NER, CPEng and/or RPEQ
