Specialist Process Engineer

Location: Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Perform conceptual and detailed design engineering work for new, updated and modified process systems, structures and components.
- Prepare design documents for Nuclear Power Plants, e.g., Design Calculation, Design Requirements, Assessments, Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, and System Code Classification.
- Review and/or approve thermohydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
- Review and/or approve Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.
- Review and/or approve Engineering packages.
- Perform project lead responsibilities by directing a team comprising of professional and technical staff on a variety of tasks in design, development, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning.
- Ensure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure adherence to company quality program.
- Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
- Mentors and/or organizes mentoring of staff to maintain and improve process engineering performance and capabilities.

The ideal candidate:
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.
- Experience performing heat balance and thermohydraulic evaluations.
- Experience in process system design and layout.
- Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design (e.g. ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA or similar).
- Working knowledge of/experience with CSA B51 standard, ASME Section III, ASME B31.1 codes.
- Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards or regulatory guides, including CSA N285.0 is an asset.
- Must have excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.
- Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
- Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
