Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure, including virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Windows Server).
  • Configure and manage network devices and protocols to ensure optimal connectivity and performance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system utilities.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Ensure system security by implementing and maintaining security measures and best practices collaborating with the Information Security Specialist.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with GIS specialists and analysts to support the deployment and maintenance of GIS systems and applications.
  • Stay updated on the latest system administration technologies and trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in system administration.
  • Strong proficiency in server administration, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Windows Server), and networking.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions and native cloud services operations.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and configuration management.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture is a plus.
  • Experience with ESRI solution installations and configuration.
  • Industry-standard certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA A+, Network+) are required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server database administration.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server database design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle RDBMS database is a plus.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
