Technical Director, Structure

Responsibilities:

  • Control and management of the whole life cycle of the projects in the Structure Team
  • Working within a multi-discipline team of engineers, technicians and other professionals to develop engineering designs from concept to detailed design and specifications
  • Liaise with Clients in relation to project progress, decisions and changes to ensure deliverables are met and produced on time and budget
  • Be a team leader to develop and grow the team with P&L responsibilities 
  • Attend design meetings, site meetings and all other project related meetings
  • Responsible for business proposal/tendering and commercial negotiations
  • Seek for business opportunities across APAC regions proactively

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with professional qualification in Civil / Structural Engineering or other related disciplines
  • Membership of HKIE or other equivalent professional bodies
  • Registered Structural Engineer is preferred
  • At least 20 years’ experience, of which minimum 12 years post qualification experience in design / construction management
  • Must have relevant design experience in building or infrastructure projects including foundation, Reinforced Concrete & Steel structures (including complex connection design)
  • Subject Matter Expert in steelwork as it relates to design and erection of long span steelwork, staged analysis and construction engineering.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, contracts, cost and programme is an advantage
  • Good interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to delivering schemes to a high technical standard on time and within budget
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to liaise and develop long term relationships with clients to ensure the commercial and technical success of projects
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage
