International students applying for a job in the UK

To apply to AtkinsRéalis early careers programmes in the UK you must hold, and be able to evidence, the Right to Work in the UK before your start date.

All information is correct as of September 2024 and is subject to UK Government immigration rules at that time.

All offers are subject to confirmation of immigration status.

AtkinsRéalis keeps its approach under review in line with any UK Government immigration policy changes.

Irish Citizens

Irish citizens have a Right to Work in the UK.

EU, EEA, or Swiss nationals – with Settled or Pre-Settled Status

If candidates have settled or pre-settled status (i.e. living in the UK prior to BREXIT) then this provides a Right to Work.

Other Right to Work Categories

If you are already eligible to work in the UK or you can apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK independent of any company sponsorship e.g. dependent visa, Hong Kong BNO, UK ancestry (for example: dependant visa, ancestry, settled status etc), your application can be considered.

Graduate Visa

Given the length of our graduate programme, AtkinsRéalis are unable to accept applications that will rely on the applicant holding a graduate visa.

Student Visa

At present, if you have a qualifying student visa, you can apply to our summer or Industrial placement roles provided you have working rights attached to it, there are no conditions attached to the visa restricting your undertaking the role on offer, and the visa will remain valid for the duration of the placement.

Sponsorship under the Skilled Worker category

Due to April 2024 revised Government immigration salary thresholds, AtkinsRéalis are not able to sponsor any skilled worker visas for our early careers programme as the Home Office’s eligibility criteria would not be met.

AtkinsRéalis keeps its approach under ongoing review in line with government immigration advice. UK Immigration Rules are subject to change with very short notice.

Please also be aware that if there are changes in UK immigration rules that impact the viability of your application before your start date, AtkinsRéalis reserves the right to change how we can manage applications, in line with any new or amended regulations. 

It is critical that you disclose accurate Right to Work information at the start of the application process. AtkinsRéalis reserves the right to withdraw a candidate if incorrect Right to Work information has been provided at any part of the recruitment process.
