I'm Ikechukwu, a mechanical engineer at AtkinsRéalis. I recently finished the graduate scheme and now work within the HVAC sector in the Building Services team. HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and it refers to systems designed to regulate indoor temperature, airflow, and air quality for comfort and efficiency in buildings. In this blog, I talk about my role and my part in shaping healthy, productive buildings that will sustain our changing populations and lifestyles.

Hi, I'm Prisha, a degree apprentice at AtkinsRéalis, and I am currently studying electromechanical engineering at the University of Warwick. I'm now one year into the programme and working as a Junior Nuclear Safety Engineer in the Aerospace, Defence, Security & Technology (ADS&T) team. So far, most of my experience has been in nuclear safety engineering, and I'm learning something new every day.

I started my career journey as a 16-year-old studying for A-levels while working overtime at a fast-food chain. Tired and unhappy, I knew I wanted more and gave myself a year to find it. After finishing my A-levels, I applied for engineering degrees and apprenticeships across various fields, eventually landing a degree apprenticeship at a pharmaceutical company. I started with high hopes but soon realized the progression was limited—it wasn't the right fit for me.
