Overview
CANDU Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Design/ Drafter to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.
Your role
- This position requires working on fast paced technically complex projects in the nuclear industries. Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following:
- Assist in developing electrical designs and technical specifications for systems such as engineering tool control systems.
- Assisting others in the office with several projects – a knowledge sharing atmosphere.
- Preparing drawings/models and construction documents.
- Coordinating system requirements with the electrical department, architects, relevant authorities.
- Conducting site visits and inspections to review progress of construction.

About you
- College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 10 years in mechanical design and drafting.
- Working knowledge of Revit is a must.
- Modelling/working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Navisworks Manage is an asset.
- Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files.
- ASME Code knowledge considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.
Additional, preferred qualifications (mandatory for some projects):
- Experience in executing projects that are subject to import/export controls.
- Security Clearance must be obtained and maintained as a condition of employment.
