How will you contribute to the team?

This individual will develop architectural solutions for client’s business needs as part of an integrated project team. This will include but is not limited to helping the owner or project manager to define the facility requirements / program. This includes understanding the client’s production flow and space environmental needs. The successful candidate will work with engineers, designers, and other professional consultants to design facilities for industrial manufacturing and distribution operations. Specialized knowledge of design in advanced technologies and cleanroom fabrication building design is desired.

  • Leads architectural design on industrial projects (semiconductor manufacturing, utility, and utility distribution facilities, etc.) and works with in-house multi-disciplinary engineering project teams in an A&E environment.
  • Defines the scope and project program requirements based on the owner’s master design standards and master specifications.
  • Provides technical overview of architectural, civil, and structural consultant deliverables from pre-design through construction design phases.
  • Conducts preliminary code research specific to the project site, program, and proposed use.
  • Prior working knowledge of code studies / evaluations for semiconductor facilities and / or hazardous / classified areas is highly desirable.
  • Partner with client to develop initial programming and project scope. Communicate with peer engineering disciplines to define project parameters.
  • When required by project scope, researches material options or alternative building methods in an effort to deliver the optimal solution for the client.
  • Utilizing owner’s master design standards and master specifications, oversees preparation of plans and related documents for permit acquisition and construction.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals and shop drawing overview throughout the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.
  • Maintain up to date safety / IP training (provided in-house) to comply with standard practices observing construction in H occupancies, hazardous material handling facilities, cleanrooms and IP sensitive areas.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree is required.
  • Master of Architecture degree is desired.
  • NCARB Certification desired.
  • Registered Architect license required.
  • 7+ years of facilities architectural design experience with a proven ability to lead the facility design from the programming/concept phase through the production of construction documents, permit acquisition, and site implementation on multi-discipline projects in an A&E environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, and in particular OSSC, is a must.
  • Architectural experience in the development and creation of construction documents for either semi-conductor, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sector industries.
  • Knowledge / experience in design of both new greenfield facilities as well as renovations to existing buildings.
  • Knowledge / experience in design of ISO clean rooms, labs, and processing spaces.
  • Knowledge / experience evaluating structural and non-structural systems and applying seismic design concepts.
  • Knowledge / experience evaluating site planning and civil engineering design.
  • Experience in coordinating design with process engineers on industrial installations of production equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with our valued team members and clients.
  • Excellent computer skills including Autodesk suite software and Microsoft Office.

Expected compensation range is between $81,000 and $135,000
