Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of regional electrical standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business needs, covering aspects such as low and high voltage switchgear, electrical distribution systems, drive applications, and electrical safety systems.
  • Support the creation and governance of the regional electrical technical strategy, sourcing strategy, and roadmap to align with business goals and advance towards high maturity in Autonomous Operations.
  • Evaluate design proposals for suitability, balancing risk and cost, and apply value engineering principles in design assessments.
  • Review phase-based engineering deliverables, including scope-of-work, drawings, and BID packages, to ensure alignment with initial designs and highlight critical feedback for technical review.
  • Ensure that electrical engineering standards, policies, procedures, and job aids in capital projects meet regulatory standards and align with global, regional, industry, and internal engineering standards.
  • Provide expert support for electrical engineering deliverables in capital projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis, propose recommendations for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance performance and manage risk in collaboration with Global and Regional Capability Centers.
  • Develop and refine metrics, reporting mechanisms, and processes to ensure effective performance, compliance, and asset integrity in electrical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Drive collaboration and coordination in promoting regional electrical engineering programs and policies.
  • Establish regional service agreements and support global SLAs for electrical engineering to meet business requirements.
  • Deliver electrical engineering support for routine operational needs.
  • Serve as a thought leader in your field, identifying issues independently through research and analysis, and guiding supporting team members as a strategic contributor.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% in the APAC region, as required.
  • Additional qualifications may apply.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards, such as IEEE, NEC, NEMA, and PIP (Process Industry Practices).
  • Experience in Electrical Power Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of plant operations related to electrical systems, with expertise in medium and low voltage systems.
  • Regular collaboration with senior-level internal and external stakeholders, requiring cross-departmental coordination.
  • Experience with technical gap assessment and solution identification.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively across varying levels of technical expertise.
