This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Support Planning and Scheduling activities.
  • Prepare project schedule, Load Resource/Budget Schedule, set up Baseline Schedule, Update Schedule, Issue schedule for internal and external use, Report critical schedule issues.
  • Lead and provide guidance and support to lower-level planners.
  • Extract Primavera data files and send to the cost controller.
  • Monitor and control the progress of the work against the Schedule.
  • Prepare and update Resource requirements reports guidance and support to lower-level planners.
  • Identification and explanation of variances between current schedule, plan, earned values and forecasts, and communicate to the Project Controls Manager, Project Manager along with presenting updates to Lead/Manager/Project or P&L lead.
  • Ensure proper progress measurement is in place for all projects and portfolios within the P&L through the whole project cycle and advise on the areas of concern that could prevent meeting the P&L objectives.
  • Interface with other Project Control Team to maintain integrated cost-schedule project control system.

The ideal candidate:

  • University degree (B. Eng, BCom, etc) preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant cost control experience, experience in engineering and construction projects environment.
  • Expert Knowledge of project management techniques and number of years of hands-on experience (i.e., critical path method, progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in Project planning, analyzing and reporting. Strong knowledge of the general project controls policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS office suite of software, especially in Microsoft Excel, Power Point.
  • Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 and ability to learn new software as per the company standards.
  • Ability to work well with Clients and Alliance partners, with staff, build and maintain good working relationships with Project Controls team.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor junior and intermediate staff and work with project cost controller.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills are required with attention to details. Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills.
